As a practice we work to stay abreast of social justice issues that impact our clients and communities. We are looking for a clinician who has an interest and commitment to continuing to learn and grow with us. 

Job Title: Licensed Clinician

Compensation:

  • This is a W2, Full Time (seeing at least 20 clients per week, scheduling 22-24). 

  • Compensation is based on a split model. 

    Associate licensed clinicians start at 55% of revenue generated, and increase each year of employment.

    Fully licensed clinicians begin at 60% of revenue generated, with increasing percentages per year of employment.

  • In-house Clinical Supervision is offered. If we cannot offer it in-house you will be reimbursed at $100/supervision will be reimbursed in ratio to your FTE, with full time being 20 clients.

  • At 20 clients per week/ based on a 3 month look back period, clinicians are eligible for 50% health insurance, and full dental and vision coverage. 

  • Trailhead will pay for you to attend either DBT Comprehensive Training or EMDR Training with a signed contract that you will stay 1 year after completion. You are also required to complete the accompanying consultation groups after your training.

  • After Year 1 of employment, Trailhead will cover $1,000 of continuing ed, per year, per FTE.

Position Description: The licensed clinician will provide culturally competent mental health services to individuals and/or couples and/or other family systems who are experiencing varying levels of difficulties due to life situations or mental health concerns.

Major Areas of Responsibility:

  • Provide high quality, compassionate and ethical outpatient mental health therapy to clients as scheduled.

  • Complete clinical documentation in EHR within 48 hours of date of service (recommended to be completed daily). 

  • Actively participate as a positive member of the clinical environment.

  • Maintain good standing with the appropriate licensing board and practice with integrity. We follow the NASW Code of Ethics.

  • Complete all recommended continuing education requirements for upkeep of license.

  • Stay current with updated research and best practices.

  • Be aware of community referral sources, in order to collaborate and refer when necessary.

  • Secure client information per HIPAA standards.

  • Perform other duties as assigned (including but not limited to: non-clinical documentation, fielding phone calls and emails, participating in case consultation). Therapists are not responsible for submitting claims or dealing with insurance. 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Trailhead Psychotherapy is an EMDR focused practice. If you do not have EMDR Basic Training, you are required to complete the training, and 10 hours of basic consultation within the first 6 months of employment. This will occur at the expense of Trailhead, but you must complete it. 

  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care, biopsychosocial and ecological approaches to care, including an understanding of intersectionality and its impact on mental health and treatment 

  • Interpersonal skills of empathy and accountability in therapeutic alliance 

  • Applying varied interventions with individuals/couples/ families

  • Demonstrates cultural competencies in practice with diverse populations

  • Works independently and implements time management strategies

  • Demonstrates positive team interactions with other clinical staff

  • Awareness of personal strengths and appropriate timing for referrals for collaborative care or higher level of care (if applicable)

Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of a Master's degree in a mental health-related field

  • Licensed (or associate Licensed) within the State of North Carolina with ability to become credentialed with insurance companies (LCSW, LCMHC, LCAS, LMFT, PhD, PsyD, etc).

  • Previous experience in a clinical mental health setting, including clinical internships.
